Key Stage 5 Network Meetings in Hull and York

ReadOn 18 June, New College Doncaster hosted their second student/teacher problem solving conference. The pupils had a fantastic day, starting with James Cranch looking at Fractions and Solving Quadratics.
ReadSchools were invited to stimulating mathematical talks and activities at the University of Bradford and Beckfoot School designed to help students see the usefulness and fun of maths beyond the curriculum.
ReadThe University of St John’s, York welcomed a Taking Maths Further event on 21 June.
ReadA professional development day exploring GCSE topics was held at the Freedom Centre, Hull on 24 June.
ReadWe’ve ran enrichment events for students of all ages in West Yorkshire this summer term.
ReadOn 11 July, 16 teachers from across Yorkshire and the North East attended a training day in Leeds, where Tom Button, MEI’s Technology Specialist, and Sheila Eastwood, AMSP Area Coordinator for West Yorkshire, explored ‘Proof, Problem Solving and Modelling in A level Mathematics’.
ReadDuring the past academic year, the AMSP and Maths Hubs have worked in collaboration on three Level 3 Work Groups: Supporting Core Maths, Embedding A level Technology and Developing A level Pedagogy.
