ReadIn the West Midlands, we’re served by several Maths Hubs. Coordinated by the NCETM, they work in partnership with local schools, colleges, universities, CPD providers, maths experts and employers to drive improvement in maths education.
ReadApplications have opened for Teaching A level Mathematics (TAM), a sustained professional development course designed to support teaching skills and subject knowledge in teachers new to AS/A level Mathematics.
ReadNine teachers in Comberton Village College near Cambridge (04/02/2019) and eleven teachers in Passmores Academy, Harlow (11/02/2019) gathered together to enjoy the third instalment in our Raising Confidence with GCSE Mathematics series.
ReadThe AMSP is constantly increasing the amount of support and opportunities on offer in the Solent. A new teacher network has started, with the first meeting held on 28 March at Bitterne Park School in Southampton.
ReadIn the North East, 32 teams have taken part in this year’s Year 10 Maths Feast competitions. So far, events have been held at Northumbria University and The Sjovall Centre in Durham, and at time of writing, we still have two more Feasts taking place at Teeside University and King Edward VI High School in Morpeth.
ReadCore Maths is really alive and kicking in the North East! Our recent Area Coordinator day was organised by AC Jeremy Dawson, and it was great to see so many teachers at the event.
ReadTom Button has created a set of travel graphs in GeoGebra, which are free for teachers to explore.
ReadOn 8 April at the University of Wolverhampton, we’re hosting a new professional development day focused on the overarching themes of the current AS/A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics specifications.
