Our popular Year 10 Maths Feasts are back for 2024. Maths Feasts are fun educational maths challenges for Year 10 students run throughout our regions. They develop students’ problem-solving and teamwork skills through engaging and challenging questions.
What are Maths Feasts?
For those who aren’t aware, the AMSP’s Maths Feasts are student enrichment events where schools. Schools put forward a team of four of their best Year 10 mathematicians to compete against other schools in several problem-solving rounds.
Each feast is delivered over four rounds of questions, each with a different emphasis. Students can work either individually, in pairs, or as a team. Each round has a specific timed activity, so time management plays a big part in maximising a team’s score for each of the rounds.
Students must make decisions on how best to tackle the problems, resulting in mathematical conversations between team members, which are a joy to behold.
