Nine teachers in Comberton Village College near Cambridge (04/02/2019) and eleven teachers in Passmores Academy, Harlow (11/02/2019) gathered together to enjoy the third instalment in our Raising Confidence with GCSE Mathematics series. The final event explored higher mathematics topics.
We looked at strategies and ideas for teachers to deepen their students’ understanding of higher mathematics topics, and to encourage them to study maths post-GCSE into Core Maths, AS/A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics study. Teachers explored ways to raise the confidence of students when working with the more demanding topics in GCSE Mathematics, and were provided with strategies and resources to use in classrooms.
