Our last Year 12 Problem Solving session ran on Wednesday 27 March, and right up the final question, students were engaged and upset they weren’t continuing. The feedback was amazing and a true testament to the two presenters – Peter Mitchell and Alan Barker – who travelled every week to inspire the pupils with maths.
Hill House School made a brilliant venue and provided drinks and snacks every week. I even hear a rumour that the pupils had a go on the zip wire – these are of course unconfirmed.
Discussions are already taking place to repeat this next year and introduce to MAT and STEP preparation for the Year 13 pupils in Doncaster. Watch this space if you are a college or sixth form in the Doncaster area!
Following on from the success of this, Year 12 pupils from around Doncaster have a second opportunity for some problem solving. On Tuesday 18 June at New College Doncaster, we will be running a full student/teacher conference for Year 12 pupils. If you are interested to send some of your Year 12 students, please email [email protected].
