Our popular enrichment mornings in Dorset, South Wiltshire and Somerset (East) have returned to a full programme across the area this year.
Ben Sparks and I were warmly welcomed by Poole High School on 6 October, St Joseph’s Catholic School in Salisbury on 13 October and Blandford School in Dorset on 8 November. Thirteen secondary schools from the surrounding areas have taken part so far and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
A typical morning consists of some warm up problem solving challenges, followed by an interactive talk on the huge range of careers which would benefit from studying maths post-16 and a guide to the different pathways available to continue studying maths after GCSE. After the talk, a team quiz takes place (with chocolate prizes!) and the event is concluded with an inspiring and engaging Creation of Number talk delivered by Ben Sparks.
Bookings are now full for our next event in Beaminster, however, there are still spaces on our Bournemouth event at Bourne Academy on 2 February 2023.
