The DfE has launched a pilot scheme for Mathematics and Physics teachers to receive retention payments of £2,000 in the 2019–2020 and 2020–2021 academic years.
The payments will be available to teachers in their first five years of teaching in the North East and Yorkshire/Humber regions as well other Opportunity Areas not covered by these regions. For more details, visit the DfE website.
