Our Core Maths Online Festival is made up of an online series of webinars. Some sessions focus on specific Core Maths content and pedagogy, whereas others focus more generally on applications of maths in the real world. I was delighted to contribute a session to the festival, titled Designing Core Maths Tasks using Real Data. The session was very enjoyable to lead and involved many valuable and insightful contributions from the delegates.
The festival sessions have been extremely popular, with hundreds of delegates attending each. However, sessions still maintain a very interactive feel, with delegates often invited to make contributions. Sessions that have already taken place include QUIBANS Live Online with Mark Dawes and Back of Envelope Maths with Rob Eastaway. The response to all of the sessions has been fantastic, with one delegate commenting, “Practical ideas that I can put into practice straight away!”
The AMSP Core Maths Professional Development Leads Cat van Sarloos and Tom Rainbow deserve a huge amount of credit for putting together such an enjoyable and valuable series of events.
