Over 100 teams of A level students from across the East Midlands took part in the Regional Finals of the Senior Team Maths Challenge this autumn. Students enthusiastically participated in an afternoon of mathematical problem solving using their skills of communication and teamwork throughout. The Crossnumber was particularly challenging this year, with only a few teams achieving full marks on this round.

The competition in Northampton was very exciting with both Uppingham School and Northampton School for Boys achieving full marks on the group and crossnumber rounds. Uppingham School were the final winners, managing a perfect score on all three rounds. In Nottingham, The West Bridgford School also won the competition with full marks. This is an amazing achievement and relies on strong individual members of the team.

Belper School and Sixth Form College were the winners in Derby, with Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School winning in Lincoln. Along with the other winning teams from across the region, they will be attending the grand final in London on Tuesday 4th February 2020.
