Starting in July, we’re running our new Core Maths Specification Networks that will provide you with the opportunity to discuss and share your experiences and develop your teaching practice with teachers who are following the same Core Maths specification as you. The networks are suitable for anyone who teaches Core Maths, regardless of experience.

We’re running separate networks for most Core Maths specifications, but you’re welcome to join more than one group. Each network will meet for a 90 minute session five times over the academic year, and one session will coincide with the publication of the pre-release source materials for that particular Core Maths specification. Whilst you’re encouraged to attend as many of the sessions as possible, we understand that this may not be feasible on all occasions.

We’re running the following Core Maths Specification Networks:

  • AQA 2A: Statistical Techniques – Due to popular demand, we’re running two networks for AQA 2A teachers.
  • AQA 2B: Critical Path and Risk Analysis
  • AQA 2C: Graphical Techniques
  • OCR A and B – This will operate as one network initially.
  • Edexcel: Mathematics in Context

Each network will be led by AMSP ‘Core Maths champions’ who have experience of teaching the specification that their network is focusing on. However, the networks will also be led by participants so you’re encouraged to attend if you like to share, discuss and collaborate.

You can find out more information and register for a Core Maths Specification Network on the AMSP website.

The sessions are free of charge to all teachers working in state-funded schools and colleges. Please note that the Core Maths Specification Networks will be limited in size and places will be issued on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
