With the usual UKMT Senior Team Maths Challenge being unable to run this year, we’re excited to be offering students the chance to take part in our very own Online Sixth Form Team Maths Challenge, developed and delivered entirely by the AMSP North East Area Coordinators and Associates.

The aim of the competition is to replicate aspects of the Senior Team Maths Challenge format as best as we can via an online medium. This is the first time that we have tried this and, if it’s successful, we hope to run it elsewhere in the country and to continue to run it in future years too.

The event will be run ’live’ with teams of four students based in a classroom in their school, accompanied by a teacher who will be connected by a screen and webcam to an online meeting platform. Answers will be marked by the teacher and scores will be submitted electronically at the end of each round. We’re hoping to have a large number of teams from around the North East entering and taking part in this new and exciting event!

The competition is planned for Friday 30 April 2021 from 13:00-16:00. You can view more information on the AMSP website and enter a team (or teams!) by emailing [email protected].
