Our Next Steps for Your A level Students course is now open for applications. This free two-session online twilight course will guide you through how best to support your A level students to ensure that they experience a successful transition to undergraduate study.

Next Steps for Your A level Students will explore specific indications of mathematical ability that universities look for in UCAS applications, for a variety of undergraduate degrees, and the mathematical expectations that universities have of students starting their courses. We’ll provide you with up-to-date information and guidance on how to support your students with their preparation for university admissions tests such as STEP, MAT and TMUA. You’ll also leave with ideas to widen your students’ experience of maths, and with activities that you can use in your maths lessons to help students understand the transition to university maths.

The online sessions will take place on Thursday 11 February 2021 and Thursday 25 February 2021, and topics to be covered include:

  • University Admissions
  • Mathematics at University
  • Wider Mathematical Development.

Next Steps for Your A level Students is provided free of charge. This course is for delegates from state-funded schools, colleges and academies. Teachers from independent schools may apply, but places will only be granted if there is availability.
