In August 2021, the AMSP and STEM Learning are running a joint online one-week course titled New to Teaching A level Mathematics summer school. The course will focus on deepening pedagogical content knowledge in key areas of the A level curriculum and will provide ideas for delivery of the overarching themes.
The New to teaching A level Mathematics summer school will be delivered over ten online sessions that will take place over five days from Monday 23-Friday 27 August 2021. The sessions will cover topics such as Functions and graphs, Problem Solving and Statistics.
The course is ideal for:
- teachers with little or no experience of teaching A level Mathematics but who have a secure background in the mathematical content of the subject
- teachers who are about to start their first teaching post and will be expected to teach A level Mathematics
- schools/colleges who are taking on new A level teachers from September (including those straight out of Initial Teacher Training).

The course fee is £200 for teachers working in a state-funded school or college in England.
