On Tuesday 4 May 2021 and Thursday 6 May 2021, the East Midlands regional team conducted the first heats of our first Live Online Y8/9 Inter-School Maths Quiz. The quiz was well attended with almost 100 teams, and we held another heat on Tuesday 18 May 2021 for the schools who had technical difficulties in the first heats. Each school that participated will have their top two teams representing them in the final on Wednesday 16 June 2021 at 1pm.
Schools who took part in the first heats reported how easy it was to enter, run and monitor the quiz. Marking and scoring was automatic meaning that teachers only had to monitor the pupils taking part, and we were able to quickly report which of their teams would be in the final.

We certainly had a lot to learn about running an online quiz but, now that it’s developed, I hope that even more schools will be confident to enter next year.
