Starting in April, the AMSP will deliver its latest programme of innovative online courses, designed to help teachers of GCSE Mathematics, AS and A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics and/or Core Maths to develop their teaching with confidence. Our Live Online Professional Development (LOPD) courses are a convenient, stress-free way to access professional development without having to take whole days away from school or college, and can be accessed from the comfort of your own home.
The suite of LOPD courses that are now open for applications are:
- AS Maths: Pure Absolute Beginners
- Higher GCSE topics through mathematical thinking
- A level Maths: Pure (Year 2)
- AS Maths: Pure Improvers
- AS Further Maths: Pure common topics
- Core Maths common topics
- Key Stage 5 Coordinator Development
- AS and A level Maths: Statistics
- AS and A level Maths: Mechanics
All of the courses are delivered roughly weekly by an experienced tutor in a browser-based online classroom. The 60-90 minute sessions aim to cover subject content that is common to all current specifications and to facilitate the exchange of teaching ideas. Interaction and discussion between participating teachers is encouraged, enabling you to network and form connections with others teaching the same subject as you.

All teachers are eligible for these courses, however free places are available only to teachers in state-funded schools, colleges and academies in England. Applications for free places will be checked to verify eligibility. The course fees can be found on the individual course pages.
