Teacher Networks are funded by the AMSP to allow teachers of GCSE and A level Mathematics and Core Maths to meet, to collaborate and to share professional development. The Teacher Networks in Kent and Medway will switch to meeting online for the remainder of this academic year, and it is possible that we will continue with this online format for some of the meetings after September if it proves to be successful.
Although we will be meeting online, it is hoped that we will be able to maintain a regional nature to the networks, by teachers attending the meetings of the network located nearest the school in which they teach. If this is not possible, teachers are, of course, welcome to attend the meeting that is most convenient for them.
From Easter 2020, we will be running four Teacher Networks. These networks, and the schools in which they are based, are:
- East Kent Teacher Network – Canterbury Academy, Knight Avenue, Canterbury, Kent, CT2 8QA
- Mid Kent Teacher Network – venue TBC, but likely to be Maidstone (please email me if you would be interested in hosting this network)
- North Kent Teacher Network – St George’s C of E School, Meadow Road, Gravesend, Kent, DA11 7LS
- West Kent Teacher Network – Weald of Kent Grammar School, Tudeley Lane,Tonbridge, TN9 2JP
From September 2020, the West Kent Network meetings in Tonbridge will no longer take place. Teachers are invited to attend the most convenient of either the existing Teacher Network which meets in Mayfield, or the new Teacher Network that is being set up in Maidstone. We have made this change to our Teacher Networks to make better use of existing capacity, and we hope that it doesn’t inconvenience too many people.
