The NCETM’s Maths Hubs and the AMSP continue to work together to develop a seamless offer for teachers of Maths. We are happy to announce that we are running several Work Groups and Programmes across the regions.

The Level 3 Maths Work Groups are extended professional development programmes and are an ongoing collaboration between teachers from local schools and colleges. They are led by an expert in maths professional development.

New to teaching Core Maths Programme

The purpose of this programme is to support teachers who are new to teaching Core Maths in developing specialist knowledge. It also allows teachers to increase their confidence in teaching the course. It is for those in the first two years of teaching Core Maths and are teaching it this academic year 2023/24.

Developing Core Maths Pedagogy

Developing Core Maths Pedagogy Work Groups are for experienced and developing teachers of Core Maths who are in at least their second year of teaching Core Maths. These Work Groups focus on collaborative discussion, planning, and trialling ideas between sessions and evaluation.

Developing A level Pedagogy

Developing A level Pedagogy Work Groups provide national support for the development of A level Mathematics teaching, to enhance the conceptual understanding of students, and for the development of participants as leaders of A level teaching professional development in their own school or college. These Work Groups are a highly effective and enjoyable way in which you can enhance the teaching of A level Mathematics in your department.

To sign up for a Work Group or Programme, either follow one of the links above for your chosen subject area or visit our events page. Using the events page, you can search via your region and see all events running in your area.
