The University of Plymouth is seeking to appoint an Advanced Mathematics Support Program (AMSP) Area Coordinator for the Cornwall, Devon, and Somerset region. The post will be part-time, fixed-term, and will start on 1 August 2024.

This post presents an ideal opportunity for a candidate with prior experience teaching mathematics to A level or equivalent and who understands the mathematics environment in UK secondary schools to coordinate support for students and teachers in state-funded schools/colleges within their region.

You will have the opportunity to organise and deliver:

  • Activities and events to promote level 3 mathematics to students in Key Stage 4.
  • Professional development for teachers of GCSE, Core Maths, A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics.
  • Advise and support schools and colleges with the development of their level 3 mathematics provision.
  • Coordinate support and tuition for students of Further Mathematics and students preparing for university mathematics entrance examinations.
  • Liaison with Maths Hubs and other stakeholders to improve level 3 mathematics in your area.
