Another Girls In Maths day scheduled for July has, unfortunately, had to be postponed. We hope to rearrange this event for either the Autumn or Spring terms of next academic year
The students spent the morning working together on two activities. In an activity led by the RAF North Wales and West Midlands Outreach Team, they split into teams to design and build wheelbarrows. Sarah Behenna from the Wise Campaign then used the excellent ‘People Like Me’ resources to help the students think about their own personalities and aptitudes to explore what STEM careers might suit them.
The afternoon saw three inspirational women – Rachael Davies, Stevie Gosling and Katie Stocking – give a presentation about their contrasting but equally successful careers in STEM to inform and inspire the attendees. Hopefully, all students went away wanting to follow in their footsteps!
