Quantitative Skills - Maths for Other Subjects (Chi Squared)

Nottingham (online)

We are aware of the increasing mathematical knowledge needed by our colleagues delivering A Level courses including Geography, Psychology and Biology. This course, which will be delivered by Stella Dudzic, is aimed at non-mathematical specialists to help them prepare for teaching the quantitative components of their courses. This session can be attended on it's own or alongside Quantitative Skills - Maths for other subjects ( Averages and Spread) on Wednesday 18th May 2022.

  • To develop effective approaches to teaching the mathematical elements of Psychology, Geography and Biology and hence increase confidence for teachers and students.
  • To discuss how students should approach examination questions containing a mathematical element in Psychology, Geography and Biology.

Who will benefit from attending?

All non-maths specialists who are delivering the quantitative components of A Level courses including Psychology, Geography and Biology.

During this session, we will look at the approaches to teaching the Chi Squared test. We will also consider how the skills are assessed by looking at the methods in context of examination questions from different subjects.

All teachers of the quantitative methods used in Psychology, Geography, Biology and any other relevant subject.
