East Kent Teacher Network

Preparing Students for GCSE Examination

The East Kent Teacher Network is an AMSP-funded project providing a forum for teachers of maths in East Kent schools to meet, collaborate and engage in professional development relevant to their own particular needs and challenges.

It is a face-to-face teacher network which meets 3 times a year at Folkestone Academy, Academy Lane, Park Farm Industrial Estate, Folkestone CT19 5FP from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm. Meetings are a mixture of informal sessions and speaker-led training events.

All teachers of GCSE and level 3 mathematics are welcome to attend.

This is an informal meeting for teachers of GCSE Maths to meet, collaborate and share ideas for teaching. It will give teachers the opportunity to dicuss the challenges they are facing, the successes they have achieved and to share some of the reources they have used.

In this East Kent Teacher Network meeting we will discuss how you can best prepare your students for the summer exam series:

  • Using the advanced information published by the exam boards
  • Using student data collected from mock examinations

You are encouraged to bring along any resources or strategies you have used successfuly in your GCSE teaching this year and to be prepared to share them with colleagues.
