Different Flavours of Mathematics



Celebrating the 2021 United Nation’s Climate Change Talks that are taking place in the UK in November 2021, the IMA South West England and Wales branch invites GCSE and A-level Mathematics students and teachers to Different Flavours of Mathematics event.

Professor Chris Budd and PhD students from the University of Bath will talk about the Mathematics of Climate followed by a presentation on various mathematics rich degrees including actuarial maths, operational research, engineering and mathematics and statistics. Students will be shown some resources to help developing their mathematical talent from the AMSP, FMSPW, STEM Ambassadors network, and IMA.

This event is organised and run by the IMA and as such all correspondence should be through their channels. The AMSP are advertising the event in support of their shared goals.

Other Information

The event will take place via Zoom on 10th Nov, 18:00-19:30. The event is free for IMA members and non-members but registration is compulsory, to register please contact Gemma Reeves at [email protected] by 1pm on the day of the talk. 

In order to comply with child protection policies anyone under the age of 18 is required to attend the event in presence of their parent/guardian. Only parents/guardians are required register.
