Proof, Problem Solving and Modelling in A level Maths Part 1 (DRAFT)Online
This course will provide an opportunity for teachers of AS and A level Mathematics to consider how the overarching themes of Proof, Problem-solving and Modelling can be delivered. This first part will focus on proof.
Although these themes have always been a part of A level Mathematics they now account for a much larger proportion of the marks in the new Assessment Objectives, this was widely recognised as being the most challenging aspect of the new (2017) curriculum. With only one full cohort having experienced formal examination on this specification it is still a relatively new development.
Problem-Solving and Modelling will be covered in parts 2 and 3. Booking Links are here:
- To consider how proof is assessed in the new specifications
- To consider approaches to teaching that will enable our students to respond to "proof" questions
Who will benefit from attending?
Any teachers of AS or A level Mathematics who would like to develop their teaching to respond to the new Assessment Objectives in A level Mathematics
