Nottingham and Derby Online Network Meeting

Resilience in the Classroom

Overview

This will be our first opportunity to get together and discuss what we would like to achieve in the upcoming year. There will be a chance to chose the focus for future meetings. The Resilience in the Classroom session will be lead by Adrian Hall who is an Area Coordinator for the AMSP in the North West. We will look at which pedagogical approaches help to build resilience and independence when tackling mathematical problems and also the language and behaviours which help pupils to achieve this.

Aims

  • Understand why some pupils give up when tackling maths problems
  • Explore which pedagogical approaches help build resilience in learners

Who will benefit from attending?
