Why offer Core Maths? An introduction for Senior Leaders
This session is a short introduction to Core Maths, designed to help senior leaders understand the benefits of offering the course as part of their post-16 curriculum.
We will look at an overview of the course and which other post-16 courses it supports, and the range of support available via AMSP and other platforms. We will also consider time and staffing commitments, and alternative structures.
This session will give an introduction to these areas, and sggest further questions to explore with their own staff.
The first half hour will focus on sharing information and establishing a common understanding of Core Maths. The second half hour will be available for discussion or a Q&A for those participants that wish to explore further.
- To give a brief overview of Core Maths
- To provide a sound baseline for considering whether to introduce Core Maths
