North East Post 16 Teacher NetworkNorth East 16-19 Network Meeting (Online)
The North East Post 16 Teacher Network is an AMSP-funded project, allowing teachers of A Level Maths, A Level Further Maths and Core Maths maths to meet, collaborate and to share best practice. We meet termly and the programme is mainly speaker-led training events and may include informal sessions. It is based in Newcastle.
- Introduction and welcome - Dave Thomas
- An active session looking at Cognitive Load Theory. How can we adapt our pedagogy and resources to take this into account. This will include examples of how teachers have adjusted their practice or tried something new in line with this approach. - Tim Johnson
- "Higher Level Problem Solving in the post-Covid era" - a chance to discuss provision for able and aspiring 6th form mathematicians. How will such provision work during the recovery phase? What support can/should the AMSP offer? And, of course, there will be some maths problems to try! - Michael Gibson
- Regional updates - Glyn Evans + others
