Resilience for Resits
Overview
How can you help build resilience in your GCSE re-sit students?
This afternoon session will look at which pedagogical approaches help to do this, and also what language and behaviours improve pupils' confidence and resilience when studying for their GCSE re-sit.
We'll also take a look at task design, and consider which types of task work well for building confidence in these students.
Depending on the situation, we might also consider how we can apply some of these strategies in live online lessons.
Aims
- Understand why some pupils give up when tackling maths problems
- Explore which pedagogical approaches help build resilience in learners
- Explore which task designs help build learners' resilience in maths
