Solving And Modelling With Differential Equations

Overview

This twilight course, for teachers of A level Pure Mathematics, provides a brief look at requirements of the Modelling Strand, followed by a detailed look at ‘Differential Equations.’ It covers first order differential equations, the Separating Variables method and how we can model different situations.

Aims

  • • To consider ways to deliver 'Differential Equations' to all abilities of students.
  • • To look at some key questions, sharing resources, and useful videos, to support effective delivery of the topic.

Who will benefit from attending?

This course is aimed at delegates who are new to teaching the pure mathematics content.

Participants are asked to have a pen/pencil handy to the session as they will be trying some questions.

Delegates will get a copy of the presentation and access to Google Drive link containing all the resources referred to during the session and a lot more!

The meeting will be held online and so all teachers wishing to attend should complete the application form so a link to the meeting can be sent
