Leeds & Bradford Online Teacher NetworkGetting Students Back on Track - what support can we offer for our teachers and schools?
The Leeds & Bradford Teachers Network is an AMSP funded project, allowing teachers of maths to meet, collaborate and to share best practice.
The Network is a mixture of informal sessions and speaker-led training events.
In this unique and challenging year, we want to ensure we are providing the most effective support to all schools. This is an opportunity to speak to other teachers about how they are supporting their students and Raj Kumar (AC for Yorkshire and the Humber) about support which is available through the AMSP and Maths Hub.
Who will benefit from attending?
Teachers of KS3, KS4 & KS5 Mathematics.
Please be prepared to share with colleagues attending the Network the challenges you are facing at present, activities/strategies that are working well with your students and how we can support teachers this year.
This is an opportunity for classroom teachers of maths to contribute to discussions about how AMSP and the Maths HUB can best support schools and students this year.
Materials and Equipment
The AMSP uses Big Blue Button (BBB), which is an online conferencing system that allows participants to collaborate in real time. It is easy to use and has features which enable a tutor and participants to communicate live on-line by using audio, video, instant messaging and, if needed, writing on a shared virtual whiteboard.
The session will be remote and will take place on the Big Blue Button platform, as such you will need a laptop/desktop computer or other internet enabled device.
We will set up the classroom and send you the classroom link, via e-mail, shortly before the session is due to start.
BBB is designed to be used on a variety of platforms but you will get the best experience via a desktop or laptop computer, running either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox as the browser. Note: Internet Explorer and Edge are not suitable currently.
It is advised that you check the requirements to access the online classroom in advance of the live session that you will be attending. You can do this at any time.
You will need a webcam, microphone and headphones/speakers to take engage fully.
Don’t forget to bring your own tea and biscuits!
Please contact [email protected] directly if you would like to attend this meeting.
The meeting is free to any who wish to attend though places will be limited. Places will be allocated firstly to teachers from the YH region but any may attend from any region. Prior to the meeting an online link will be sent to all those who have confirmed their attendance.
