STEP Preparation Course at Newcastle UniversityNewcastle upon Tyne
This is a weekly course aimed at students in years 12 and 13 with a particular focus on prepartion for the STEP university admissions tests.
It will take place every Wednesday from 22th Jan to 13th May 2020 (excluding 19th Feb, 8th Apr, 16th Apr),
4:00pm to 5:30pm, Herschel Building, Newcastle University.
Who will benefit from attending?
Any students who are either going to be sitting STEP, may be sitting STEP or MAT/TMUA etc. next year or who are simply enthusiastic mathematicians who wish to practise and develop their problem solving skills alongside similarly minded peers.
We will focus mostly on Pure questions from past STEP I/II papers with optional questions from STEP III and Mechanics/Stats questions available as the course goes on. For students in year 12 we will provide optional STEP questions and other work that does not require as much knowledge of year 13 A-Level content.
Materials and Equipment
Students are encouraged to bring their own paper, pens and other stationery. Calculators and mobile devices with graphical applications installed may also be useful but not essential.
Please contact Michael Gibson [email protected] if you have any questions about this course.
