London North East Teacher NetworkSupporting Improved Results in A Level Maths
Teacher Network is an AMSP-funded project, allowing teachers of A level Mathematics to meet, collaborate and to share best practice. We meet termly. The sessions are split between trainer-led workshops (on a topic determined by staff preferences at previous meetings), teacher led presentations and a 'feedforward' discussion which informs planning for the impending term/year.
- Reviewing and responding to data from 2019 exams
- Teaching the new 'themes' : proof, technology and modelling
- Discussion of what the AMSP can provide locally
This meeting aims to offer an evidence-based response to how schools have performed in the new specification A Level exams - in particular the June 2019 A Level papers. We will spread our time between the exam boards represented at the meeting - please confirm how different exam boards are likely to be represented with the event organiser.
We will look at what can be inferred from the data about the exams, and what responses we can make.
We will also look at how the three new themes - proof, technology and modelling- have affected the new exam papers.
And we will look at what is best classroom practice with regards to developing students' performance in these three areas

You will need to bring the best data you can get on your students' performance in the Summer 2019 exams. This might involve liaising with your data manager/leadership team to ensure you have maximum access, and bringing the actual Excel file with you.
You need to bring a latop.
If you have registered separately through Gwyneth Hamand, you do NOT need to register again here.
