Year 9 Girls' Conference AOxford
Workshops and short talks; Mathemagicians
An engaging day with plenty of mathematical activity as well as information to inspire and enthuse your students.
Who will benefit from attending?
This event is aimed at Year 9 girls, who are capable of studying A Level Maths/Further Maths or AS Core Maths after GCSE, but who are not motivated to do so.
The day will include some inspirational Maths, some inspirational women, and some problem solving.
A day of inspiration and interaction in the company of some female role models who have used maths to get where they are today: in business, academia, and positions of power. The day aims to give girls from year 9 a chance to appreciate the vitality of the subject, the usefulness of the subject and (hopefully) their love of the subject.
Workshops: Perspicaceous Paper Folding, Box of Delights, Data Visualisation
Lunch will NOT be provided, so please bring your own. There will be space for students and teachers to eat. Light refreshments will be provided mid-morning and mid-afternoon.
