Year 12 Conference
A one day conference for year 12 maths students & their teachers are invited to The University of Warwick for a mathematics conference to develop deeper mathematical problem-solving skills.
This event is ideal for students who are thinking of applying to study mathematics, engineering or related university courses.
The conference consists of several workshops some of which will give students the opportunity to solve a variety of mathematical problems and will include problem-solving, developing mathematical fluency, university admissions tests and an element of competition. Other workshops include how to get started, how to set out solutions and how to work in a group to solve a problem.
Teachers will join their students for some of the workshops as well as attending a session that provides information about university admissions tests and where support for these can be found.
The conference will run on two separate days, 1st and 2nd July, both identical in content – choose the day that suits you best. There are 9 student places available per school and any teachers in attendance will follow a parallel PD programme.
This event is free for students and teachers from state-funded schools, colleges and academies. A packed lunch will be provided for all students and teachers.
