Who will benefit from attending?
The day aims to provide your Year 10 students with a taste of mathematics at University with the hope that it will encourage them to consider mathematics post 16 or hopefully post 18. It is designed for those students in your top sets, who should be considering Mathematics as an option for Post-16 study. The workshops are designed to be challenging as well as enjoyable.
Students will participate in several workshops, for example, Medical Statistics, Cryptography, Geometry, Dimensional Analysis and computer programming.
Materials and Equipment
It is expected that students will have the usual school mathematics equipment, including scientific calculators.
