Overview

Upskilling Functional Skills staff to teach GCSE:

Session will be interactive; activities will be used to appreciate the interconnectivity of mathematical topics and how common themes can be exploited to make planning and preparation easier. Additionally, staff will be assisted with creating their own resources and conducting high-level planning for the academic year 19/20.

  • Understand the progression in reasoning
  • To explore a range of rich activities that develops reasoning

Who will benefit from attending?

Teachers who teach GCSE Mathematics, NQTs, RQTs, Non-Specialists.

Content

Using Rich Activities to enhance students reasoning skills. E.g. Concept Cartoons, Frayer Model, Venn diagram.
