Coffee and Pi (Oxfordshire Teacher Network)

Core Mathematics - Resources Bring and Share + Monitoring Progress and Assessment Materials

Coffee and Pi is a network meeting for teachers in Oxfordshire secondary schools as part of the Oxfordshire Mathematics Community. A post-16 group, funded by AMSP, meets half-termly, allowing teachers of Core Maths and of A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics to meet, collaborate and to share best practice. The programme is planned in response to teacher requests and is a mixture of presentations and discussions. Additionally, an 11-16 group meets half-termly.

Resources Bring and Share

If you are teaching Core Maths, please bring a couple of resources that you have used successfully. (6 hard copies should be sufficient, plus email electronic copy to Alexandra if it's not otherwise available.)

If you are new to teaching Core Maths - why not see if you can find a leaflet or newspaper article that might make a good starting point?

Monitoring Progress and Assessment Materials

We'll take a look at the available materials, and also discuss strategies for monitoring progress in soft skills such as problem solving, as well as mathematical content. Please bring along your ideas of how you monitor your students' progress, and what assessment materials you have found useful.

Sandwich tea provided!

For catering purposes, please let Alexandra Hewitt know if you intend to be there by Monday 29th April, preferably by completing the google form, but if you have difficulties, just send me an email.

The school is doing catering, so please sign up as soon as you can!
