Y9 Girls' Conference x2
A joint event with the University of Oxford
Workshops and short talks; Fun Maths Roadshow; Mathemagicians
An engaging day with plenty of mathematical activity as well as information to inspire and enthuse your students.
Who will benefit from attending?
This day is aimed at girls in Year 9 who are potential A level students but who may not be considering Mathematics and Further Mathematics because of lack of interest or confidence.
This course is delivered by the AMSP in collaboration with:
Materials and Equipment
Students should bring writing materials and calculators.
Students and teachers should provide their own lunch, but light refreshments will be provided mid-morning and mid-afternoon.
Due to continued demand, we are offering two days again this year so that we can accommodate more girls! The days will be basically the same as each other and have the same booking form. Please indicate if you are able to consider the alternative date.
The event is initially limited to 15 students per school, although additional places may become available after the deadline.
The day is free, but schools are required to pay a deposit of £100, which is returnable if the school attends the event. After completing the booking form, please send a deposit by cheque payable to ‘The Mathematical Institute, Oxford University’ to
University of Oxford
Radcliffe Observatory Quarter
Please write your school name and ‘Girls’ Conference’ on the reverse of the cheque
Deadline for payment of deposit: Monday 25th February 2019
Please note that places will be re-allocated to schools on the reserve list if deposit cheques are not received within 3 weeks of booking. Contact Alexandra if there are any problems with this.
