The University of Greenwich Maths Centre and Advanced Maths Support Programme are delighted to be hosting Greenwich Maths Time. We will be presenting a day of exciting mathematical talks, workshops and hands-on activities for your students to explore.

The Festival and all its events are free. Due to the anticipated popularity, please complete the booking link.

The day will feature 45 minute sessions by:

  • Ioanna Georgiou - Peculiar Deaths of Famous Mathematicians,
  • James Morris - Skewer Hyperboloids,
  • Jeff Trim - A Mathematical Cure for Insanity,
  • Joe Watkins - The Maths of Juggling,
  • Kelly Klus - Why Study Maths Beyond GCSE,
  • Maths Explorers,
  • Nicole Cozens - Space!
  • Niki Kalaydzhieva - The Maths of Set,
  • Takita Bartlett - Maths in Style.

Aims

  • To explore the Maths that goes on in everyday life
  • To consider future pathways to study Maths post 16
  • To present the diversity of Maths and of the people who do it

Who will benefit from attending?

This day is pitched at students in years 9 and 10.

Other information

There will be timed workshops every hour, starting at 10am, with the last workshops starting at 2pm. And there will be a range of drop-in activities running throughout the day.  After you register, when the programme is finalised, we will be in touch to allow you to choose which workshops your students will attend.
