Overview

Proof is a key concept in mathematics. The skill of reasoning and communicating a rigorous proof is vital to providing secure mathematical knowledge and demonstrating high achievement. This one day course looks at some of these different topics with strategies for you to use in the classroom to develop the skills of your students.

Content

Proof underpins many aspects of the GCSE curriculum and the skills involved in reasoning and communicating a rigorous proof can be transferred to other subjects.

Effective Teaching in the GCSE classroom considers different aspects of proportion and strategies for embedding understanding within the curriculum with the objective of increasing the number of students that choose to study maths post-16. Delegates will be provided with course materials electronically after attendance on the day.
