Overview

The Teacher Network is an AMSP-funded project allowing teachers of maths to meet, to collaborate and to share professional development. We meet regularly and the programme is a mixture of interactive discussion and speaker-led training events.

Aims

This meeting will focus on the use of the Casio CG50 calculator, with Amarpreet Singh Kular, the Education Development Manager for Casio leading the meeting.  We will look at the graphing capabilities and how they can be used in the classroom. There may also be an introduction to using the new Distribution mode for statistical distribution probabilities and hypothesis testing.

If there are specific aspects of the calculator that you are interested in finding out more about, we may also be able to accommodate this.

Who will benefit from attending?

This meeting is suitable for any teacher who uses calculators with their students and who would like to learn either about specific functions of the calculator or how to efficiently use the calculator for GCSE or A Level.

Materials and equipment

Please bring along your calculators, although we will have a supply available for you to use.

Eligibility

This meeting is suitable for all teachers of mathematics.
