Overview
The Advanced Maths Support Programme and the University of Bedfordshire invite you and your Year 10 students to a day of talks and workshops designed to showcase the fun and usefulness of maths beyond GCSE. You may bring up to 16 students and unlimited teachers free of charge. We would especially like to see students who are hoping to achieve at least grade 4 at GCSE, but may not be considering studying maths post-16. In particular, please consider bringing students who are Pupil Premium, Free School Meals or otherwise at risk of educational disadvantage. It may be possible to bring additional students if space allows nearer the time.
Aims
- To offer students a taste of maths beyond GCSE
- To explore potential careers supported by maths qualifications
- To provide information about maths courses available post-16
- To have fun working on unusual maths problems and learning about new areas of maths
Who will benefit from attending?
Any Year 10 students who may study maths beyond GCSE, especially those who may be undecided or may be unaware of options other than A level maths.
