Overview

This one day conference, organised jointly by the AMSP and the North East Maths Hubs (Archimedes and Great North), has a focus on Maths across key stages. There will be several sessions throughout the day and we ask that teachers indicate their preference for 3 of the sessions. To help with this there is a link to a form below so you can provide your preferences regarding sessions. Refreshments will be provided.

Who will benefit from attending?

All teachers of Post 16 Mathematics and teachers of GCSE Mathematics. In addition educators, STEM ambassadors, exam boards, Careers advisors are welcome to attend and please let us know if you would like a stall.

Session 1: Use of Logs and Exponentials in Pure Maths

Session 2: Conditional Probability for A Level Maths, Core Maths and Higher GCSE

Session 4: Maths for low attainers including resit students.

Session 5: Use of Representations at GCSE

Session 6: Extension and Enrichment at GCSE: An Introduction to Calculus.

Session 10: The Role of Success in the Mathematics Classroom

Other information

Please bring something to write with and on. 

Refreshments including lunch will be provided.

There is no need to wear business attire - casual is fine.

After your application has been accepted, you will receive a form to complete indicating which sessions you would like to attend. In addition you will receive full details regarding the workshops.
