  • To offer students a taste of mathematics beyond GCSE
  • To encourage students to take maths, further maths A levels, or Core maths
  • To provide information about maths courses available post-16

Who will benefit from attending?

The event is aimed at those students who would benefit from studying level 3 mathematics after GCSE, though you may want to consider other students within your school or college. It will inform students about their options for studying mathematics after GCSE. No knowledge of mathematics beyond that expected at Year 10 will be assumed, challenge is provided via the context.

This day is suitable for any Year 10 students who may study maths beyond GCSE, especially those who may be undecided.

The aim of the day is to provide your Year 10 students with a taste of mathematics beyond GCSE and at University with the hope that it will encourage them to consider mathematics post 16. The workshops are designed to be accessible and will be challenging as well as enjoyable!

We encourage you to bring at least as many girls as boys.

Other information

The students will be allocated to the different workshops to enable a hands on interactive experience.

You are invited to bring a group of Year 10 students to this event; the group will need to be accompanied by an adult/adults from school who will be responsible for them during the day.
