The AMSP provides a wide range of enrichment opportunities for students, both nationally and locally, all of which aim to inspire students to take their maths further. Many local face-to-face events are organised by the AMSP Area Coordinators each year.

As well as face-to-face events, we also provide a range of online events for students. Recent local events have included Maths without limits Online, an interactive evening webinar where students met four inspirational female role models who came from a range of careers. On Thursday 14 July 2022 at 19:00, we’re running another online enrichment event for local students titled Codebreaking and Cryptography. In the interactive session, students will put their mathematical skills and problem-solving abilities to the test to break ancient and modern codes!

Also coming up in July are two instances of the AMSP’s national online enrichment event, Which Career? – Meet people working in different roles. These events take place during the school day so that you can attend with your students, on Monday 11 July 2022 and Thursday 14 July 2022. They aim to inform your students about how maths is used in different careers and the importance of continuing to study maths after GCSE. We’ll be joined by three guests who will talk about their careers and take questions from attending students.

You can view a summary of the AMSP’s enrichment opportunities for students, as well as many activities and ideas to use in the classroom, on the AMSP website.
