To celebrate Black History Month 2021, the AMSP published three new resources designed to give some insight into the rich global heritage that maths enjoys. Hundreds of teachers viewed these resources during October 2021, and we’d like to find out how teachers and students used them.

We believe that maths classrooms should reflect the broad range of influences which have shaped maths over the centuries, and we therefore intend to develop further classroom resources to support teachers in providing this background for their students.

So, if you either used our Black History Month 2021 resources or you have views about what further classroom resources could include, we’d love to hear from you. This short questionnaire provides an opportunity for you to give us your views. We look forward to reading what you have to say!

If you’re interested in this area of work, we’d love to meet you at the MEI Conference 2022 where, included amongst a large variety of sessions, is a talk called Making history with mathematics education and an interactive session called As easy as 1, 2, 3: A short history of counting.
