As an A level teacher myself, the challenge of problem solving in Level 3 Mathematics is a significant one. Balancing teaching the skills with allowing pupils time to practice and attempt deeper problems is not an easy task!

On 4 July at the Mercia School in Sheffield, we are hosting some CPD looking at the important overarching theme of problem solving in the new A level specification. The focus will be on the Year 12 classroom and how pupils should be interacting with problems using the skills they have been taught.

If you are a teacher looking at your own classroom practice and building it around problem solving, or a Head of Department or Key Stage 5 Lead looking to build a problem solving approach into your schemes of learning, this is the course for you!

It is a one-day course and you will need to bring a laptop to the day. The event is free to all teachers from state-funded schools and colleges. To book your place, please email Helen Boddie at [email protected].
