The University of St John’s, York welcomed a Taking Maths Further event on 21 June. About 60 Year 10 students and their teachers attended. The workshops covered ‘Alternative Geometry’, ‘Game Shows and Scams’, ‘Fun Maths’ as well as ‘Welcome to the Mathegraphical Domain’. The students were kept busy all day and attempted a Maths quiz at lunchtime.
The final session was Colin Wright’s ‘Patterns and Predictions’ which included the Maths behind juggling tricks. For details of our next student event please visit our events listing.
