Wyke Sixth Form College recently hosted the AMSP’s Teaching Maths in Context at A level professional development event on Friday 31 January 2020.
Teachers from a variety of subjects, including Maths, Accounting, Engineering, Business, Geography, Chemistry, Economics, Psychology, Sport and Sociology took part. The event included sessions on Easy ways to embed maths into your course, Interpreting Graphs, Averages and Spread and Percentages and Finance.
The participants received access to many resources and left feeling very enthusiastic afterwards, as illustrated by feedback such as, “I’m feeling inspired by the fantastic training today. I absolutely love maths!” and, “The whole day has made me think about how I teach maths and really highlighted some of the difficulties students face.”
