Martyn Quigley, AC for North Birmingham and Dudley

A one-day professional development event was held on Wednesday 9 January in the School of Mathematics at the University of Birmingham. The day focused on when, where and how to introduce problems from the STEP, MAT and TMUA examinations into the normal sequence of maths lessons for Years 12 and 13.

To help do this, the event introduced both a STEP problem browsing tool and a mapping of MAT and TMUA questions on a typical scheme of work. The day closed with a brief tour of the online resources available for teachers to use when preparing students for university entrance examinations.

Here’s some feedback from the teachers that attended:

  • Incredibly useful and well produced event. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
  • Excellent resources to take away!”
