Annual two-day enrichment event, Mathsplosion, recently returned to the Life Science Centre in Newcastle and was once again a favourite with students and staff. We hosted over 200 Year 10 students from 17 different schools from across the North East.
The day focused on the development and extension of mathematical concepts beyond the scope of typical GCSE content, and provided fun and inspiration for both staff and students. The day was put together by the AMSP in association with the education team from the Life Science Centre, who contributed to the day’s schedule with some excellent sessions and provided an incredibly warm, friendly and welcome environment for mathematical exploration.
